CABARRUS COUNTY, N.C. -- Flames broke out at a house on Earnhardt Lake Road and Highway 3 in Cabarrus County early Friday morning.

Crews had to block the highway for several hours while they worked to douse the fire.

The home was destroyed, but everyone inside got out safely. Fire investigators are still working to find out the cause of the blaze.

School buses in the area had to be re-routed due to the road closure.
